Pioneer Day Parade and Fireworks!

Okay, so today is Pioneer Day in Utah! I have always heard its a pretty big deal here...and yeah, IT IS! So, there was a parade last night in Bountiful, then fireworks after! They were so good! But...this is the crazy part! So, there are signs along Main Street in Bountiful that you can't reserve spots for the parade until 7am on the day of the parade. I thought that was kind of funny, because back home no one goes the day before and starts reserving spots for the parade! haha! So anyways, Jason starts work at 4am, and if I need the car for something that day, I will drive him to work and then come home and go back to sleep...so yesterday morning I drove Jason to work because I was going to take a big blanket from Lorie's, and a few lawn chairs at 7am to "reserve" our spot for the parade! So we are driving down the street at almost 4am...and people are sitting on main street reserving their spot!There were even a few people laying on the sidewalk in sleeping bags... WHO DOES THAT! HOW CRAZY DO YOU HAVE TO BE! I found it absolutely hilarious...anyways so I was determined I was NOT going to go reserve our spot at that time of day. So I went at 6:30, and wow...the street was absolutely packed! I had kind of a hard time finding a good spot for all of us, but I managed to! I learned my lesson though...next year...I'm going to be an intense parade watcher...and go at 4am. You gotta do what you gotta do!

Then after the fireworks, we went up to watch the fireworks near Mueller Park in Bountiful, they were so good! I love fireworks! Lorie and Matt brought pizza so we all chowed down and watched the fireworks! Taylor(Duane and Tabitha's son) was so funny, when the finale of the fireworks was on, Taylor says "Now THIS is a happy ending!" What a funny kid!
